my first ballet - swan lake

The My First Ballet  series is a unique collaboration between the English National Ballet and the English National Ballet School. The performances within the series are designed to introduce children to classical ballet, with a narrator to help the young audiences follow the story.

At this preview of My First Ballet: Swan Lake, choreographer George Williamson will be talking about the challenges involved in creating this magical adaptation. The ballet will be performed by second year students from the English National Ballet School. The morning will start with light refreshments and will include a run-through of the first half of My First Ballet: Swan Lake in full costume.

La Fille Mal Gardée

la fille

As part of the Spring 2015 season, The Royal Opera House are showing this much loved ballet – which has been said to have some of Frederick Ashton’s most brilliant choreography. La Fille Mal Gardée is based on an 1828 French ballet, and has remained a favourite in The Royal Ballet’s repertory. It is laced with good humour and is all in all a very joyful ballet.
